Rick Stein Fistral, Fish and Chips Restaurant and Takeaway, Fistral Beach, Newquay, Cornwall

Rick Stein Fistral can be found at the Fistral Beach Complex on the world famous surfing beach in Fistral, Newquay, Cornwall.

With views over the turbulent Atlantic Ocean, a small bar and seated restaurant area overlooking the sea (infront) and beach (to the left), it felt right to kick back and relax in these beautiful surroundings.

Aside from the stunning outlook over the Atlantic Ocean through the glass frontage, this fish and chip and curry restaurant / takeaway offered something more than your average chippy. Having said that, the food was reasonably priced and although busy when I visited, the restaurant felt very relaxed which was enhanced by the location. So far, so good!

A great menu was served with some chilled live music which added to what was soon becoming a very cool spot to dine. Better still, whether you choose to eat in or takeaway, this reasonably priced chippy had the finese of any other Rick Stein restaurant, with a price you’d expect to see in your local chip shop… except this one had live music, a sea view and a well equiped bar, what’s not to like? In a word, nothing. This place ticked all boxes, and having checked out a fair number if Rick’s places in Cornwall, Fistral chippy was up their with the best.

After a couple of aperitifs while enjoying the live music, my window table awaited. After being escorted to my table, I was pleasantly surprised by the view which was simply breathtaking! The restaurant perches over the beautiful Fistral Beach and surf community when seated. A great spot to come out of the sun while watching the surf!

Spectacular views aside, the menu was great and offered a number of regulars you’d expect to see in any other fish and chip shop, though offered some fantastic curry alterantives, with a couple of fantastic katsu curried streetfood boxes, available to eat in or takeaway.
