Dean’s Plaice, fish and chips, restaurant, Herne Bay, Kent is a place I like to visit when I fancy an impromptu trip to the coast. Located on Central Parade, Herne Bay, Dean’s Plaice serves fresh fish and chips to eat in or takeaway.

Popular with tourists and locals, Dean’s Plaice fish and chips are always hot, fresh and served with a smile. With a variety of soft drinks, mushy peas, pickled eggs and fresh lemon wedges, I rarely resist popping in if i’m in town enjoying the sea air.

With your usual suspects on the menu, namely cod, rock, haddock and, of course… plaice, there’s something for everyone. With battered sausages, savaloys and Southern Fried Chicken also available and a fair sized seating area with sea views, this reasonably priced chippy is decent and worth a butchers!

Although the fish is always fresh and battered to order, on my last visit the batter was a little over cooked, like it had been prepared earlier. Having said that, it was out of peak time and closed for the day when I had finished eating, so hats off to them for accommodating me.

With picked eggs, rolls and free forks, serviettes and condiments, Dean’s plaice is a chippy worth checking out if you’re in Herne Bay. Pop in and grab a bite!
