The Malling Jug, Micropub, West Malling, Kent is situated in the centre of the historic and picturesque town of West Malling, in the heart of Kent. As West Malling’s first and only community micropub, we felt obligued to pop in to test the waters. With a comprehensive range of quality fine ales from the local area, I decided to order three thirds to sample as many as I could during my visit.
Choosing one golden ale, and one plum porter (not Titanic, but fairly well rounded), all ales tasted great, boasting bold flavours and were kept in good condition. The Malling Jug, Micropub, West Malling, Kent was rather busy when I visited as it coincided with the West Malling Christmas Lights Festival, which is why I was in the area… as were hundreds other other revelers! A great day, topped off by discovering this cracking little micropub, tucked down the narrowest alley in West Malling.
The Malling Jug, Micropub, West Malling, Kent offers, in their words ‘a no-frills experience’ where you can enjoy fine real ales and great conversation in a warm and relaxing environment, where you will not find the distractions of TV, karaoke, gambling machines, dartboards or pool tables. Nice!
After ordering my ales at the front of house, I was escorted to my seat in the courtyard garden to the rear of the pub. After a short wait, my beers were brought over to my table. With friendly staff and a comprehensive selection of fine ales from Kent, this one’s not to be missed!
