Welcome back The Food And Drink!

Welcome back The Food And Drink!

What a year it’s been.

With many pubs and restaurants having to close to the public during national lockdown restrictions, the world as we know it has changed.

That said, spring has sprung, the rule of six is back in effect… and everyone’s hungry for places to reopen.

Before getting too excited about eating out again, we’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you all back. We’ve missed you!

Welcome back folks!

No surprises when we say that the national lockdown restrictions have prevented us from physically visiting new venues.

However, this hasn’t prevented us from eating and drinking!

Nor has it prevented us from exploring some new and exciting eateries, as well as supporting the ones we love (where possible of course).

Whether that be continuing to buy locally roasted coffee beans from our local barista, or ordering online to do our bit to help keep our much loved independent venues afloat.

That said, with doors closing for many cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants during lockdown, businesses have had to adapt quickly to continue serving customers, while adhering to government guidance and legislation which, in many instances hasn’t been easy.

With businesses looking at new ways to continue serving their guests during lockdown, many have used this opportunity to introduce new and exciting ways to continue selling their produce.

Separating the wheat from the chaff

Although we’d love every restaurant and pub to flourish, not every one will.

In our personal opinion, venues that have moved with the times will hit the ground running, whereas ones that haven’t, wont.

We will see how things pan out from the 12th April, but with a number of start-ups serving the public, filling the gap and meeting demand during the lockdown period, where people chose to eat may have changed too? I guess time will tell?

Grubs-up!

With the 12 April approaching and the weather brightening up, what better time to bring you some aperitifs to get your pallets ready for summer?

Rest assured we’ll be plating up some tasty morsels on the blog, so check in and check out some of the best places to eat out or eat in this summer.
